Terms & Conditions

Please read these terms carefully before attending or purchasing tickets for a Borders Music Festival event

Last updated: July 2026

By purchasing tickets, registering for events or attending any Borders Music Festival event, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. Please read them carefully. These terms are governed by Scots law.

About Us

Borders Music Festival is a Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation (SCIO) registered with the Office of the Scottish Charity Regulator (OSCR) under charity number SC049870. References to "we", "us" or "the Festival" refer to Borders Music Festival.

Tickets and Booking

Purchasing tickets

Tickets may be purchased online via our website or through authorised ticket agents. A booking is confirmed when you receive a confirmation email from us. We reserve the right to refuse a booking at our discretion.

Pricing

All ticket prices are stated in pounds sterling (GBP) and are inclusive of any applicable taxes. We reserve the right to alter prices at any time. Any changes will not affect confirmed bookings.

Booking fees

A booking or transaction fee may be applied to online purchases. This fee will be clearly stated before you complete your purchase.

Third-party ticket platforms

Any ticket purchased through third-party ticketing platforms (including Eventin or other authorised agents) is made subject to their terms and conditions as well as to these provisions. Please refer to the relevant platform's website for details of their specific terms, privacy policies and fees.

Ticket delivery

Tickets will be delivered electronically to the email address provided at the time of booking. Please ensure your email address is correct. We cannot be held responsible for tickets not received due to an incorrect email address.

Resale and touting

Tickets may not be resold for profit. Any ticket offered for resale above face value may be cancelled without refund. Commercial ticket touting is strictly prohibited.

Refunds and Cancellations

Cancellation by you

Tickets are non-refundable except in the circumstances set out below. If you are unable to attend, tickets may be transferred to another person at no charge. Please contact us in advance of the event.

Cancellation or changes by us

In the event that we cancel an event, you will be entitled to a full refund of the ticket price. We will not be liable for any additional costs incurred, including travel or accommodation.

We reserve the right to make changes to advertised programmes, performers and venues. Where a significant change is made, we will notify ticket holders as soon as practicable. Changes to supporting performers, running order or programme content will not entitle you to a refund.

Force majeure

We shall not be liable for cancellation or changes caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to extreme weather, pandemic, government restrictions, acts of terrorism, power failure or industrial action. In such circumstances, we will endeavour to offer alternative arrangements or credit but cannot guarantee a full refund.

Refund process

Where a refund is due, it will be processed within 14 days to the original payment method.

Attendance at Events

Admission

Valid tickets must be presented for admission. We reserve the right to refuse admission to any person who is unable to produce a valid ticket, appears to be intoxicated or disorderly, or whose behaviour is deemed likely to cause disruption or offence to other attendees.

Latecomers

Latecomers may not be admitted until a suitable break in the performance, at the discretion of the venue. No refund will be given in such circumstances.

Age restrictions

Some events may have age restrictions. Where applicable, these will be stated at the time of booking. We reserve the right to request proof of age.

Under 18s

Children under 18 must be accompanied by a responsible adult at all times. The accompanying adult is responsible for the child's behaviour throughout the event.

Photography and recording

Unauthorised photography, audio or video recording of performances is strictly prohibited without prior written consent from Borders Music Festival and the relevant performers. Professional cameras and recording equipment are not permitted without accreditation.

By attending our events, you consent to being photographed or filmed by our official photographers for use in festival publicity, social media and marketing materials. If you do not wish to be photographed, please inform a member of staff.

Behaviour

All attendees are expected to behave in a respectful manner towards performers, staff, volunteers and fellow audience members. We operate a zero tolerance policy towards harassment, discrimination or abusive behaviour of any kind. We reserve the right to remove any person whose behaviour is deemed unacceptable without refund.

Accessibility

We are committed to making our events as accessible as possible. If you have accessibility requirements, please contact us in advance of your visit at enquiries@bordersmusicfestival.com so we can make appropriate arrangements.

Liability

Borders Music Festival shall not be liable for any loss, damage or injury suffered by attendees at our events, except where such loss, damage or injury is caused by our negligence or that of our employees or volunteers.

We strongly advise attendees to take out appropriate personal travel and event cancellation insurance.

Nothing in these Terms and Conditions limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.

Indemnification

By attending or purchasing tickets for a Borders Music Festival event, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Festival, its employees, volunteers, officers and agents from and against any and all claims, damages, losses, liabilities and expenses (including legal fees) arising from or relating to:

  • Your attendance at or participation in any festival event
  • Your use of the website or booking systems
  • Your breach of these Terms and Conditions
  • Your infringement of any third-party intellectual property rights
  • Any injury or damage caused by your conduct or negligence

This indemnification does not apply to claims arising from the Festival's own negligence, wilful misconduct or breach of these terms.

Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions are governed by Scots law. Any disputes arising under these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Scottish courts.

Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right to update these Terms and Conditions at any time. The current version will always be available on this page. Continued use of our website or attendance at our events after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

Severability

If any provision of these Terms and Conditions is found to be invalid, unlawful or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, that provision shall be severed and the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect. The Festival may substitute any invalid provision with a valid provision that achieves the same effect where possible.
